Putney & Wood are a specialist stone and façade contractor delivering high-quality hand-set stone façades and internal stone finishes on technically demanding projects across London and the UK.
We operate in strategic alliance with John F Hunt, combining specialist stone expertise with the capability, scale and delivery experience of a major contractor group. This alliance strengthens our ability to support complex projects where coordination, logistics and programme certainty are critical.
Today, we work closely with main contractors, developers and design teams to support the successful delivery of complex stone packages — from early design and pre-construction through to installation on site.

Our Team
Putney & Wood is built around experienced stone specialists, project managers and commercial professionals with a detailed understanding of natural stone construction and façade delivery.
This depth of experience allows us to manage interfaces effectively, respond efficiently to design development and maintain control through all stages of a project.
Barry began his career in 1984 as an apprentice stonemason for Ashby & Horner. Over the years he has worked on several high profile projects including University College London, Kings Arms Yard in the City and Brighton’s landmark Equitable Life building.
Andy’s career began as an apprentice stonemason in 1982. Following management training, he soon became a site manager for Ashby & Horner. Andy has worked on several of London’s most prestigious stone buildings including Kensington Palace Gardens, Kinnaird House at No 1 Pall Mall and the famous Wellcome Building in Euston Road.
James has worked in the construction industry for 20 years. A qualified quantity surveyor, he worked as a senior surveyor for main contractor, StructureTone for five years prior to joining Putney & Wood in 2004.
