77 Coleman Street – Retains 78% of Concrete Frame in Retrofit

77 Coleman Street – Retains 78% of Concrete Frame in Retrofit

Earlier this summer Putney & Wood completed this project and although inevitably delayed by the pandemic, this is a great example of how you do not need to ‘reinvent the wheel’ and knock down and start again. This retrofit has been sensitive to the surrounding architecture and environment, reusing the existing concrete frame and saving 13,200 tonnes of concrete.

Matt Keane, Contracts Manager of Putney & Wood said, “The team really enjoyed this project, and it looks unrecognisable; hard to imagine that this is a retrofit and it was deemed a 1980’s ugly only a couple of years ago. Great job all round!”. Our Case study will be available on the website in the New Year.
