March Marathon Madness!

March Marathon Madness!

On Sunday 17th March, Aidan Keys ran his first (and last) half marathon with his Dad (Malcom) which he has described as the most painful two hours of his life! Unfortunately, Aidan pulled his hamstring three weeks ago and was therefore unable to complete his training schedule in the immediate ‘run’ up to the Brentwood half Marathon, he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to complete the 13.1-mile course. But with a bit of grit and determination he managed to get around in a respectable time of 2:06:24 (he’s happy with it). His Dad, Malcom is now doing the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 14th April, followed by the London Marathon on Sunday 28th April, a whopping total of 65 miles. Aidan said, “Dad is an absolute loon if you ask me, but I couldn’t be prouder of him!”.

The Keys Men are running to raise money to help the Southend High School for Boys Charity Week raise £10,000 for UNICEF and Mind (South East and Central Essex). Mind is mental health charity close to both of their hearts which Malcom has previously raised over £4000 for. If you would like to help these worthy causes, please sponsor him via the Just Giving Page link below and there is also a link to the Mind Charity website, so you can see the invaluable work they do.
