Putney & Wood were appointed to deliver the external stone façade package at 80 New Bond Street, a high-end commercial development located in the heart of Mayfair.
The scope comprised the supply and installation of a range of natural stone materials, including Portland Basebed and Fancy Beach limestone, Gris Parga granite, and Broughton Moor slate. These materials were carefully integrated across the façades to create a refined architectural finish appropriate to the surrounding New Bond Street context.
Works included the installation of Portland stone cladding to the Dering Street elevation, alongside feature window surrounds, soffits, and arch elements formed in Broughton Moor slate. Granite stall risers were installed at ground level, providing a durable and high-quality interface at street level.
The façade build-up incorporated an SFS backing structure, insulation, EPDM, and cavity barriers, with Putney & Wood responsible for the design and coordination of all stone support and restraint fixings.
Delivered in collaboration with RED Construction and Orms Architects, the project required careful coordination across multiple façade elements and materials, with particular attention to detailing at ground floor level and interfaces with glazing systems.
Completed over a 3-month programme in April 2024, the scheme delivers a high-quality façade that enhances the character of New Bond Street while providing a durable and contemporary external envelope.
