240 Blackfriars

As part of the Southbank redevelopment, 240 Blackfriars is a striking, 19-storey tower offering 11,000 sq. ft. of BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rated office space and 10 luxury apartments.

Putney & Wood was awarded the internal stonework package by the main contractor Mace. The contract included the design, supply and installation of 240 m2 of Blue Savoy marble to the main reception and lift lobbies on all 19 storeys. To overcome differential movement concerns relating to the floor build up in the reception, Putney & Wood installed several unobtrusive movement joints to break up the expanse of marble flooring. The package also included York stone paving at the entrance.
