Ham Yard Hotel

Ham Yard is an impressive 5 star boutique hotel in the centre of London’s theatre-land. Built on a bombsite from the Great War, the site took decades to redevelop due to the deep excavations and the nearby surrounding structures.

Following a competitive tender process, Firmdale Hotels awarded the cladding package to Putney & Wood. This included the design and installation of the steel framing system (SFS) and additional bespoke secondary steel. Zimbabwe granite was used as a feature around the shop fronts and window surrounds. While Portland stone bands were then expertly installed between the curved shop fronts. Slate was used as a feature for the water fountain base with a line from a poem etched onto the stone.
