St Mary Magdalene Church

Designed by George Edmund Street and completed in 1872, St Mary Magdalene Church is a Grade 1 Listed Building featuring a highly decorated Ninian Comper chapel inside. The new ‘heritage wing’, which nestles between the existing church and the adjacent primary school, houses a new canal-side café, education room, and access to the redeveloped undercroft.

For this part Lottery-funded project, Lengard Construction needed a specialist cladding contractor with meticulous attention to detail, experience working on listed buildings, and of course, a competitive price. Putney & Wood ticked all the boxes and were awarded the faience cladding package, completing the contact on time and within budget.
