This three-storey, concrete framed building was designed to accommodate new teaching and IT rooms and provide improved entrance facilities for the existing library.
As part of the stonework package, awarded by main contractor Fitzpatrick, the Putney & Wood in-house design team interpreted architect Penoyre & Prasad’s conceptual drawings to create detailed drawings of the stonework on each elevation. Following design, Putney & Wood’s project team procured the specified Jura limestone from the original quarry source in Germany. The installation phase was carried out by Putney & Wood’s site masons who hand fixed each stone, completing the stonework package on time and within budget.
